have already
lived.

Why these, and not others

We buy the
hand, not
the century

Age alone is easy to find. What is not easy to find is evidence of a person: the planishing marks left by a hammer, a garland cut freehand into a horse's neck, the moment a chaser's line wanders a hair and then recovers.

Everything here was chosen for that. Eleven objects, each one of one, each still doing — or capable of doing — the job it was made for.

01

Chosen by hand

Bought one at a time, in person. Nothing sourced from a container.

02

Told straight

Wear, losses and repairs are written into the listing, not out of it.

03

Packed properly

Double-boxed, insured, tracked. Glass and enamel travel separately.

The house

An arch, a palm,
a star and a floor

Our crest is a small inventory of Morocco. The keyhole arch that frames every doorway from Fez to Essaouira. The palm that marks water. The eight-pointed khatim, the seal, the same star struck into the centre of the tray in this collection. And beneath them the zellige floor, laid tile by tile, which is where Moroccan geometry begins and ends.

We put it on everything we sell because it is a promise about the kind of object we are willing to put our name to.

Step one

Reserve the piece

Because every object is unique, adding it holds it for you while you decide. Nothing is charged at this point.

Step two

We quote the crossing

Shipping and insurance are quoted for your address by return — brass is heavy and we would rather be accurate than optimistic.

Step three

It travels

Double-boxed and tracked, with its condition report and a note on how to care for it.

Eleven pieces. Then they are gone.

Take one home

When a piece sells it is not restocked. That is the whole proposition, and the only honest one for objects like these.
